Simone Biles Shows Off Serious Core Strength in Clip of Her At-Home Workout

From Men's Health

The IOC’s recent decision to postpone the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo until at least 2021 would’ve been as good an excuse as any for some hopefuls to take a break from their training, but U.S. gymnast Simone Biles clearly isn’t going to be one of them.

In a new video posted to Instagram earlier today, the four-time Olympic gold medalist gave fans a brief glimpse of how she’s staying fit while self-isolating in the midst of the global Coronavirus outbreak. The clip opens with Biles demonstrating some serious core strength, elevating herself into an L-Sit position atop a pair of parallettes bars—in the middle of what appears to be her kitchen, no less—before transitioning seamlessly into a handstand, then finishing once more in the L-Sit position.

In the caption, Biles also offers a word of encouragement—and some sound advice to her fans: “Stay home and stay focused!” she wrote. Celebrities, including journalist Katie Couric and Canadian model Lexi Wood, took the opportunity to respond. “I’ll have to try this one at home! Go Simone!” Couric wrote.

While the clip is brief, it goes to show that even world-class gymnasts have to get creative to stay fit while in quarantine.
