The Sims 4's next expansion Growing Together is out now, and it's available at a discount if you're on PC.

The pack is aimed at Simmers who want a deeper family gameplay experience, with several new systems – such as family dynamic and social compatibility – that add more nuance to relationships between individual Sims.

For example, you'll be able to set whether two siblings have a close, distant, or difficult relationship.

And when a Sim meets a new Sim, social compatibility dictates their natural chemistry, which impacts how easily they get along.

There's more stuff in the expansion too – like new milestones, the world of San Sequoia, in-law visits, and content for elder Sims – but what's intriguing about this release is its how it tries to organically enhance a significant part of the core experience.

"It's about the sense of watching our Sims across all our life stages grow up," lead designer Scott Dai recently told Digital Spy.

"[We wanted to] give the opportunity to our players to celebrate the full lifetimes and the memorable milestones of every single family, and let them explore the unique ways in which we know that the families may be interacting with each other."

CDKeys has a nice launch deal for PC, offering Growing Together at 27% off, so that's £25.39 in the UK and $31.19 in the US (at the time of writing). A code will be digitally sent over, which can be redeemed on the EA App/Origin.

In case you missed it, a major base game update – free for all players – also launched to coincide with the release of Growing Together.

The update added the Infants life stage, which is perfect for the new expansion, as well as birthmarks, stretch marks, and caesarean scars in Create-a-Sim (CAS) mode.

Infants are customisable like the other life stages, so you can dress them up how you like, and come with numerous new interactions for players to discover and experience.

The Sims 4 Growing Together is out now on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
