The Sims 4 issues fix after Steam version of Horse Ranch launches with missing text
The Sims 4 has issued a quick fix for Steam users after Horse Ranch launched with missing text.
On Thursday (July 20), Steam players reported being unable to play the new expansion with text including names, actions, and descriptions not appearing properly.
A few hours later, the team gave an update saying that the bug has been addressed and giving instructions on how to fix the problem if it doesn't resolve itself automatically.

"The team has resolved the missing text in Steam downloads of The Sims 4 Horse Ranch," they said on Twitter.
"Steam players who experienced this should be prompted to update the game. If you are not prompted, please untick the DLC in the DLC manager, then check the box again to re-download."
Separately, some PC users on EA App/Origin have reported issues with installing the expansion.
According to Simmers affected, when trying to download the pack, the process in the app is stuck at the 'preparing' stage.

The issue is being investigated, with the team saying that it is "working on a fix". If this is affecting you right now, a community manager has shared some possible workarounds on the EA Help website.
Horse Ranch is the latest pack for the game, introducing horses and the American West-inspired world of Chestnut Ridge.
This week, EA and Maxis confirmed that content creators Chrissy YT, Simproved, Ninnster, and Doctor Ashley contributed lot builds for the expansion.
A free base game update also accompanied the pack's release, adding Native American items and paintable ceilings for all players.
The Sims 4 Horse Ranch is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
