The Sims 4 has rolled out a hotfix patch to address a number of bugs in the For Rent expansion.

The new pack launched last week, though Simmers have been reporting a variety of glitches affecting the game.

For December 14's update, four bug fixes have been released.

The first ties into editing the wallpaper for Residential Rentals (the new lot type which allows for multi-unit properties to be built) in Build Mode. Previously, "drawing, deleting, or auto-filling" wallpaper would result in performance issues but that has now been addressed.

A bug for incorrect rent prices on the Taka Soi pre-made lot has also been fixed.

"Any incorrect price UI in existing saves should quickly update to normal by the next bills cycle," the patch notes add.

If you've noticed that Sims have been autonomously using the shower a lot more than usual, even when they're already clean, then you might be pleased to know that this should stop happening now.

And the 'FreeRealEstate On' cheat is working again, allowing players to move into any residential lot at no cost.

In addition to adding Residential Rentals, For Rent introduces the world of Tomarang as well as landlord gameplay.

Discussing the new lot type, designer Jessica Croft recently told Digital Spy: "I think the proximity of Sims to each other really enhances the storytelling. Just having somebody walk through to get to their room or to their unit, and having the ability to interact with them, those are really the stories of living in a multi-unit property.

"Those are stories that we're trying to capture here and why we felt like being able to build a tightly-knit community was really important to this pack."

The Sims 4 For Rent is out now on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox.
