Simu Liu made a super comeback after winning the first round of “Celebrity Jeopardy!" on Sunday night.
The “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star competed against comedian Andy Richter and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Ego Nwodim.
Since Richter won the show back in 2009, Liu called him the “main character” of the competition.
“It was in 2009 and I won. But I couldn’t come back for the semifinals because Conan and I had lost ‘The Tonight Show,’ and he was prohibited from being on television, so we went on tour in order to keep the band paid” Richter said.

“He lost his chance at victory and now he’s back with a vengeance and ready to take it all. I’m just a side character. I’m just standing in his way,” Liu noted.

Despite Liu’s admitted nerves given that “there’s no game show that exposes stupidity the way that 'Jeopardy!' does,” he managed to snag several of the coveted daily doubles. However, Richter had nearly double Liu’s amount going into final Jeopardy!.
However, in a surprise twist at the end, Liu bet his entire earnings of $11,600 and correctly answered a question about landlocked countries, which Richter got incorrect.

Liu won the game with $23,200 while Richter lost $2,200 and ended up with a total of $18,900. The Marvel star declared after his win that he would donate a total of $23,200 to nonprofit organization Stop AAPI Hate.
He is now in the running to compete next week in the semifinals.

On Monday, Liu called out his critics on Twitter, saying, “To all the people trying to ‘give me tips’ on Jeopardy, please talk to me when you have four cameras pointed at you on a subzero soundstage with a live audience, two super-fast-buzzing competitors and money on the line for charity lmfao.”
