Singapore weather in 1H June could hit 35 deg C on some days

SINGAPORE — Warm and humid weather is likely to persist in Singapore in the first fortnight of June, with the temperature hitting as high as 35 degrees Celsius (deg C) on some days.

This is despite more showers expected over the period compared with the last two weeks of May.

On most days in the first half of June, the daily maximum temperatures are forecast to reach around 34 deg C, the National Environment Agency said on Wednesday (1 June).

During this period, short-duration thundery showers are forecast over parts of Singapore in the late morning and afternoon due to strong daytime heating of land areas.

Some nights may also be warm, with minimum temperatures of up to 28 deg C expected.

Meanwhile, NEA said Singapore saw warm days mostly last month, mainly in the second half of May.

The highest daily maximum temperature of 36.7 deg C was recorded at Admiralty on 13 May. It was the highest temperature ever recorded in Singapore in May, surpassing the previous record high of 36.5 deg C on 16 May 2010 and 3 May 2016.
