Singer Mary Millben as sent a video message to Joe Biden urging him to help India, which is going through a tough second wave of the Covid-19 crisis.

“Mr President, today, America is in full capability to help India. Thank you for lifting the ban on raw materials. Good first steps. But, we can do more. We can send vaccinations to India. Initiate public-private partnerships – just as done under Operation Warp Speed last year, to bring vaccinations to Americans. Have courage, Mr President. Let’s help India,” she said in a video on Sunday.

The 39-year-old vocalist tweeted: “India, I love you and will continue to advocate/pray for you.”

In the video she said: “India is America’s strongest and largest democratic ally, Mr President, just like you said on the campaign trail and now regularly in the Oval Office, we are all one family, and America always helps its friends.”

Millben has previously performed for George W Bush, Barak Obama, and Donald Trump. Furthermore, she has been a featured soloist for prominent global eminence including Queen Noor of Jordan and Princess Basmah bint Saud Al Saud.

India recorded 349,691 new Covid-19 cases and 2,767 deaths in the last 24 hours and has seen the world's most elevated spike in cases for four continuous days.

Furthermore the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, announced that the US is “working closely with our partners in the Indian government, and we will rapidly deploy additional support to the people of India and India’s health care heroes”.

On Friday, the UK’s prime minister, Boris Johnson, pledged support to India, saying: “We’re looking at what we can do to help and support the people of India.”

He added that the UK could help by potentially providing ventilators or therapeutics.
