Singer-songwriter Shaun announces new EP ‘Omnibus pt.1: Kaleidoscope’

South Korean singer-songwriter Shaun, born Kim Yun-ho, announced his new EP “Omnibus pt.1: Kaleidoscope” on Instagram Monday.

The handwritten letter from the “Way Back Home” hitmaker reads: “Hi There, This is SHAUN! Last 3 years must have been endlessly dark and extremely harsh time for all of you and it was for myself as well. Nevertheless, all your love and support to my latest release “#0055b7” come to me as the biggest source of energy and motivation. Thanks to all my fans!! Now I’m coming back with a new EP ‘Omnibus Pt.1 – Kaleidoscope’ on THURSDAY JULY 28th.”

In the letter, Shaun goes on to explain the meaning behind the EP title: “EP ‘Omnibus’ as its name implies different stories from different people. Hope you take in all the various emotions and stories, empathize, and be touched and feel this music with the most passionate and open mind.”

He signs off the letter expressing his gratitude for the support he has received, saying, “I’m working very hard to pay back to all of your love with new music in the best quality and satisfaction. I wish no more than for you enjoy this EP. Thanks for always being patient and please stay tuned for more/ Love ya!”

Shaun names his single single album “#0055b7” in 2021 as his latest release, but he did drop a collaboration with Malaysian singer Yuna earlier this year called “So Right.”

The Warner Music Korea artist teased one song on the upcoming EP with his performance of “Road” at Korea’s Waterbomb Festival earlier this month.

Shaun debuted as a solo artist in 2015 with the single “Falling Into.” His viral megahits “Way Back Home” and Way Back Home (feat. Conor Maynard) [Sam Feldt Edit]” have amassed over 3 billion streams. Shaun became the top-streamed solo K-pop male artist in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He was on Spotify’s Top10 most streamed K-pop track/artist in 2019 and 2020 with 3.4 million monthly listeners.

Shaun and Feldt even united on stage together this month at the S20 festival to perform their version of “Way Back Home.”
