Singin' Strings dulcimer group: Singin' Strings is a group of dulcimer players meeting to work on their skills and share music. All levels of dulcimer players are welcome to join in. German conversation group: Native German speakers or those who have studied German, but lack someone to practice the language with, can come to this group to practice with others who also speak some German and are looking to enhance their skills in conversation with others; 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Ave., Longmont; longmontcolorado.gov.

Preschool connections: Identifying and controlling big emotions can be hard, especially for young children. Kid Connects in the Neighborhood, a program through Mental Health Partners, will be partnering with the Longmont Library to provide a space for children and caregivers to learn how to identify big emotions and discuss ways to manage those feelings; 10 a.m. Thursday, Library, 409 Fourth Ave., Longmont; longmontcolorado.gov.
