Singing River Trail accepting “Launch Tank” applications

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Singing River Trail is calling all entrepreneurs to apply for its Launch Tank Competition.

For the third year, SRT will provide an opportunity for new and aspiring business owners to take their plans to the next level.

Similar to the popular reality show Shark Tank, entrepreneurs in North Alabama will share their business pitch with members of Singing River Trail and Innovate Alabama. Winners will earn valuable resources and a share of $25,000.

“I’d love to invest in the next great idea in North Alabama,” said Singing River Trail Executive Director John Kvach. “For that person listening to my words just think about this…you can become your own boss. It only might take that first step towards how you get into the network. This is how you become part of a system that will foster you and grow you.”

Anyone living within the 8-county area of Jackson, Madison, Marshall, Limestone, Morgan, Lawrence, Colbert and Lauderdale can participate. Kvach says their goal is to give back to the community and highlight the importance of economic and entrepreneurial growth in North Alabama.

Applications for the Launch Tank Competition are being accepted through March 31.

Eight to nine applicants will be chosen to present their pitches at the culminating event at the US Space and Rocket Center in April.
