ROCKFORD — Summer is almost here and that means activities and events across the Rock River Valley are in abundance.

This third week of June brings us Juneteenth celebrations, Old Settlers Days and more.

Old Settlers Days

What: A four-day music festival featuring artists such as Ashley McBryde, Jordan Davis, LoCash, Sean Stemaly, Caylee Hammack, Shy Carter, Spencer Crandall, Ashley Cooke and Cooper Alan on the Main Stage.

When: Thursday-Sunday

When: Settler's Park, Rockton

Cost: 4-day general admission pass good for all 4 days of festival: $6 in advance, $10 beginning June 16. Children 12 and under do not require a 4-day general admission pass. Main stage concert requires additional ticket.

Moon-Lite Madness flea market

What: Antiques, collectibles, furniture, estate jewelry and more will be on hand at the annual late night flea market in Belvidere.

When: 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday

Where: Boone County Fairgrounds, 8791 Illinois Route 76, Belvidere

Cost: $5 admission for adults, kids 12 and under enter for free. Free parking.

American English Beatles Tribute

What: American English, winner of sound-alike contests at Beatlefest, will perform music made popular by the Beatles.

When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday

Where: Sinnissippi Park Music Shell, 1401 N. Second St., Rockford

Cost: Admission is $5, Children under 5 are free. VIP tickets are $25.

Culture Shock turns 16

What: The 15th Annual Record Store Day Drop Deux & Culture Shock's 16th anniversary is on Saturday. Buy 1 Get 1 Half Off on all used vinyl and tees. Live music from Andrew Robinson from noon to 2 p.m. Complimentary snacks and drinks from noon to 4 p.m.

When: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday

Juneteenth Weekend

What: The Rockford Juneteenth Celebration is a celebration for all races commemorating the day the slaves were freed in the south. Featured events include a community cookout, Chautauqua, Juneteenth Queen competition, community church service, All Black Graduation, and Sunday's Best competition.

When: 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday

Where: Sinnissippi Park, 1401 N. Second St., Rockford

Cost: Admission is free

Frozen Jr.

What: The Studio Rockford is proud to present a modern classic from Disney. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.

When: 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. June 24, 2 and 6 p.m. June 25 and 26.

Where: Rockford University Clark Arts Center, 5050 E. State St., Rockford
