Sioux Falls celebrates cultures from around the world during 25th annual Festival of Cultures

Crowds of people filled Falls Park Saturday during the 25th annual Festival of Cultures hosted by the Multi-Cultural Center.

Throughout the day, there were performances by Bhutanese dancers representing Nepal, Lakota hoop dancing by father-daughter duo Dall Chief Eagle and Starr Chief Eagle, the Sioux Falls Lion Dance Team, Ballet Folklorico Estrellas De Jalisco and Tuff Roots.

There were also multiple vendors selling drinks from Mexico, tacos, Grecian gyros, Polynesian barbeque and more.

All of the cultures on display during Saturday's festivities were representative of the many different people living in Sioux Falls, Mayor Paul TenHaken said. He encouraged people to ask questions about each other's cultures and what makes them special.
