Sioux Falls man arrested after Giliberto's shooting sees more charges, bond amount doubled

A Sioux Falls man arrested after he nearly ran over police officers with his car while fleeing a shooting at Giliberto's on Minnesota Avenue last month has additional charges filed against him, according to court documents.

Isaac Mohammed Wali, 20, was arrested on Nov. 7 after he nearly hit two Sioux Falls police officers as he fled from the scene of a shooting on the 700 block of South Minnesota Avenue.

Court documents say that Wali was "present" and "involved" in the shooting at Giliberto's, but don't go into further detail.

One man died and two others were injured during the shooting. Police haven't released many details about the incident, including how many shell casings were recovered.

A "possible stolen gun" was also mentioned in Wali's court documents, but no specifics are given as to whether the gun was used or what happened to the gun afterward.

Wali was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement, two counts of simple assault on law enforcement and resisting arrest.

Wali has not received any charges related to the shooting, but as of Tuesday received additional unrelated charges for aggravated eluding and obstructing an officer, according to court documents.

The 20-year-old's original $50,000 cash-only bond doubled to $100,000.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens told the Argus Leader on Wednesday that police aren't publicly identifying any persons of interest or suspect in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Wali is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on Thursday, according to court documents.
