Sioux Falls weather forecast calls for storms, up to 2 inches of rain

Storms are expected to roll into the Sioux Falls area early Tuesday morning, bringing as much as 2 inches of rain to the area, according to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls will remain under a red flag warning until 8 p.m. Monday, as high winds and low humidity lead to an increased risk of outdoor fires.

Rainfall is expected to begin early Tuesday morning and continue through Wednesday morning, with between 1.25-2.75 inches of rain currently forecast.

The risk of severe thunderstorms in Sioux Falls is low according to the NWS, though forecasts could change for Tuesday depending on storm tracks and warming.
