'Sister Amnesia's Country Western Jamboree' hits the stage

CAMBRIDGE − Another Nunsense production has made its way to the Cambridge Performing Arts Centre. 'Sister Amnesia's Country Western Nunsense Jamboree' is pure campy, Catholic fun. The light-hearted show contains mild adult humor, the kind that makes you slap your knee and giggle just a little bit at the innocence of the jokes.

Follow along as Sister Amnesia, also known as Sister Mary Paul, played by local stage veteran Tricia Wurzbach, finally gets the chance to promote her country record, as it soars to the top of the charts.

Produced and directed by Anne Chlovechok, the small but stellar cast is comprised of Tricia Wurzbach, Kay Feldner, Christine Pyscher, Beth Hughes, Anne Chlovechok and Nathan Kennedy. Chlovechok has put on a number of shows at both the arts centre and Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center, including "White Christmas" and "Beauty and the Beast."

Plenty of chances arise during the two-act performance for audience participation, and don't be surprised when asked to sing along with the chorus of "We Miss You, Patsy Cline," a cleverly arranged song that contains the names of 43 of the singers' hits.

The show gives a "Laugh-In" meets "Hee-Haw" musical theater vibe, which translates to summer fun for almost all ages, as it comes with a PG rating. A live music ensemble, led by Janine Schmelzer Bock, compliments the experience. Made up of Adam Karlen, Joe Murdak, Kevin Reed, Jim Bock, Brosy Fogle and Tom Apel, the group almost becomes another cast member through its music.

The song 'Mini-Pearls of Wisdom' is performed by Tricia Wurzbach, Nathan Kennedy and Christine Pyscher.
