Two sisters from Surf City are performing today in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii, commemorating the 82nd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.

Lexie Kelley, a senior at Topsail High School, and Madison Kelley, an eighth-grader at Surf City Middle School, are members of the America's Clogging All-Stars dance team.

Both girls have been involved in numerous genres of dance since a young age, Eric Kelley, parent of Madison and Lexie, said. Lexie and Madison are particularly passionate about clogging and have earned multiple first place awards around the country.

The purpose of the parade is to remember "our past while celebrating that once bitter enemies can become friends and allies," according to the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade webpage.

More than 100 participants are scheduled to perform in the parade.

Ira Schab, one of the last known survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack, is also scheduled to attend the event. Schab, who's 103, was a tuba player on the USS Dobbin when the attack occurred.

The Kelleys have also been invited to perform at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C., and the New Years Parade in London in 2026 after their induction to the All-Stars clogging team in 2022, Eric Kelley said.

The girls have performed on the USS Missouri, toured the battleship, and paid their respects to the memorial site of the USS Arizona with their dance team.

They are scheduled to perform in the parade at 6 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian standard time, which is 11 p.m. eastern time.
