Six Berks high school field hockey players earn MAX Field Hockey All-Region honors

Jan. 11—Three Berks players were named to the MAX Field Hockey Pennsylvania All-Region first team honors and three others were named to the second team, it was announced Wednesday.

Making the first team were Wilson's Erika Culp, Berks Catholic's Aubreigh Uba and Boyertown's Katelyn Dulin.

On the second team were Wilson's Catherine Arentz, Oley Valley's Alexandra Lopez and Twin Valley's Maddie Stevens.

Culp, a senior midfielder/forward and the Berks Player of the Year, had 28 goals and a county-leading 32 assists in helping the Bulldogs win the Berks title and finish second in District 3 Class 3A and PIAA Class 3A.

Uba, a senior midfielder/defender, had a county-high 44 goals and 20 assists for a county-leading 108 points for the Saints, who finished sixth in District 3 Class 1A and qualified for the PIAA playoffs.

Dulin, a senior midfielder, had 23 goals and 10 assists for the PAC champion Bears, who reached the second round of the District 1 Class 3A tournament.

Arentz, a senior midfielder, had five goals and 11 assists for 21 points for the Bulldogs.

Lopez, a senior midfielder/defender, had 18 goals and seven assists for 43 points for the Berks and District 3 Class 1A runner-up Lynx, who reached the PIAA Class 1A semifinals.

Stevens, a junior goalie, had nine shutouts for the Raiders, who finished fourth in District 3 Class 2A and advanced to the PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals.
