Six Flags Announced That Magic Mountain Will Be Reopening At Some Point This Spring

From Delish

On the heels of Disney California Adventure planning an exclusive, ticketed food and beverage event set to begin in March, some other theme parks have announced their plans for the 2021 season following COVID-19 related closures. Six Flags has set opening dates in March and throughout the spring for its parks across the country including Magic Mountain in California.

Six Flags Magic Mountain of Valencia, CA, posted a simple tweet alluding to an upcoming opening date. "We’ve missed you! Are you ready for thrills this year?" the tweet read, which included a photo that said the park would be opening in Spring 2021 with no additional information.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Daily News, California theme parks will be able to open within the next six weeks if they are located in counties that reach the yellow, tier four zone of Governor Gavin Newsom’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. These zones are determined based on numbers related to new cases and positive COVID-19 tests.

Other Six Flags locations across the country have specific reopening dates scheduled, like Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, which is set to open on March 27. The park's opening has been highly anticipated thanks to a new rollercoaster, the Jersey Devil Coaster, that reaches 13 stories at its highest height.

Six Flags also announced that its Great Adventure Safari attraction will reopen on March 20 and the Hurricane Harbor water park will open on May 15. Social distancing and face coverings will still be enforced throughout the park and sanitation stations will be available throughout the parks.
