Six Flags Magic Mountain closing for 3 days due to inclement weather

Six Flags Magic Mountain will be closed through the weekend and on Monday as a storm moves through Southern California.

The theme park made the announcement on X, formally known as Twitter, on Friday.

“Due to inclement weather, Six Flags Magic Mountain will be closed Saturday – Monday, Jan. 20-22, 2024,” a portion of the statement read.

Tickets purchased for the days impacted will be valid on any regular operating day until Dec. 29.

The rainstorm will come in three waves, according to KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo. The first wave will arrive Friday night into Saturday morning but is expected to produce the least amount of rain.

The second wave is expected to be slightly more powerful than the first and will move into the region beginning on Saturday night into Sunday morning. The last wave, expected to come Sunday night into Monday, will produce the most rainfall.

Rain totals through Tuesday are forecast to reach 1 to 2 inches for the coasts and valleys, with 2 to 5 inches expected in the mountain and foothill areas, according to the National Weather Service.

Six Flags did not indicate it could potentially be closed on Tuesday as well.
