Six Flags Over Georgia set to re-open next month with new roller coaster, food options

Six Flags Over Georgia is set to kick off its 56th season early next month and will have some new roller coasters and food options.
The park will re-open on March 4, with a day of giveaways. The park will give gift packs to 23 lucky guests that will include exciting prizes, such as season passes, behind-the-scenes tours, event tickets, merchandise and more.
The park says it will debut a first-of-its-kind single-rail family racing coaster sometime this summer. The roller coaster will run two trains on two parallel dueling tracks, allowing guests to compete and race to the finish.
“Six Flags Over Georgia continues to elevate the guest experience and provide thrilling fun for guests of all ages,” said General Manager Greg Fuller. “In 2023, we will be introducing exciting new events and will debut Georgia’s first ever single rail coaster and only family racing coaster, providing even more opportunities for families to visit and enjoy our park.”
This spring, the park is celebrating two coaster anniversaries, The Great American Scream Machine, which turns 50 years old in March, and THE RIDDLER Mindbender, which turns 45 years old in March.
The new food at the park this year features orange or Caribbean-style chicken, fried rice bowls, pork melts featuring BBQ pulled pork, bacon, crispy onions, and melted cheddar cheese on Texas Toast, and made-from-scratch, hand-rolled pretzels, according to a news release.

Six Flags Over Georgia is open weekends from March 4 through May 21 and open daily for Spring Break from April 1 to 9 Summer daily operation begins May 26.

It's Acrophobia.
It's one of Six Flags' most famous rides! This classic wooden roller coaster has been an instantly recognizable landmark for almost five decades of riders at Six Flags Over Georgia.
It's the Great American Scream Machine! This gargantuan creature was built in 1973. It rolls out over 3,800 feet of track that will have you screaming from the moment you leave the station on your initial climb up to a dizzying 105 feet. This was sure steep back in 1973 and it’s still steep now.
It's one of the park's oldest rides. Know it? Launched in 1967, The Dahlonega Mine Train was one of the very first roller coasters at Six Flags Over Georgia

The Batman roller coaster was unveiled April 30, 1997, at Six Flags over Georgia. The ride combines state-of-the-art thrill ride technology with blockbuster Batman movie magic; speeds reach 50 mph, height is 105 feet.
Towering a staggering 15-stories tall, this impressive giant disk will reach speeds up to 70 miles per hour, as it whips back and forth — higher and higher giving riders an exhilarating riding experience as they soar high above the Atlanta city skyline. Can you name it? It's Pandemonium.
Guests will soar seven stories high as they board for an adrenaline-charged flight on this ride. Can you name it? It's CATWOMAN Whip.

Barrel down an enclosed five-story drop that includes a 125 foot long whirlpool bowl, spinning you round and round at 360 degrees on this ride. Can you name it? It's Tsunami Surge.
Riders begin this ride being taken up a 95-foot tall lift hill—but it isn’t really a hill, because this lift is straight up. It's Dare Devil Dive!
Here's another from the waterpark. Know the name? It's the Bonzai Pipelines. The first two set of slides will take you on a dark and watery decent through enclosed tunnels before soaring down steep curves ranging from 180 and 360 degrees. Propel through serpentine tunnels and rushing water before finally plunging into the splash pool at the very bottom. Curious about the third option? First you’ll travel down a four story drop into a gigantic bowl that will whoosh you around and around in gushing water before finally dropping through a corkscrew chute into the splash pool below.

You can't go wrong cruising around the park in a a classic turn-of-the-last century motor car. Know the name? It's the Hanson Cars. Top speed 7mph!
This is the DC Super Friends part of the park. Do you know the name of the tower ride in the middle? It's the SUPERMAN: Tower of Power.
Take a boat ride without getting wet on this ride. It's Rockin’ Tug.
These family-friendly boats will spin around the high seas and make you feel as if you are riding straight through the wakes on this bumpy boat ride. It's Speedy Gonzales Speed Boats.
Most people have ridden the train at Six Flags at some point, but can you name the railroad stations? It's Marthasville Railroad Station and Rabun Gap Railroad Station. Your train leaves from Peachtree Square, and it’s just about the coolest way possible to get to the Rabun Gap Railroad Station over in the French section. Along the way, you’ll pass through great neighborhoods like the British section, the Promenade, Georgia, U.S.A., and even GOTHAM CITY. You’ll also cruise past huge roller coasters like the Dare Devil Dive.
