Six former Florida State Seminole football players set to play in Super Bowl LVII

For the seventh straight year, a former Florida State football player will be on the team that lifts the Lombardi Trophy.

Six former Seminoles will play in Super Bowl LVII between the AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs and NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The six representatives give the program the second-highest total among all college programs.

The Florida Gators and Oklahoma Sooners each have seven representatives.

The record for most FSU players in one Super Bowl is Super Bowl XXXVII between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, which featured nine former Seminoles. Dexter Jackson took home Super Bowl MVP honors that year.

Florida State’s five defensive linemen in Super Bowl LVII are the most in any position group from one school, according to FSU.

Roderick Johnson, Philadelphia Eagles

Johnson represents the lone offensive player for the Seminoles in this year's Super Bowl, though he likely won't make an appearance, as a practice squad player.

He earned All-ACC first-team honors in 2015 and 2016, his final two seasons with FSU. Following his junior season, he entered the NFL draft and was selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns in 2017.

He has had stints with the Browns, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Chiefs and Eagles.

Johnson was signed to the Eagles practice squad on Sept. 28, 2022, after being released by the Chiefs on Aug. 27.

Joshua Kaindoh, Kansas City Chiefs

The former fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has not recorded a defensive stat in 2022 and is generally inactive on gamedays for the Chiefs.

Kaindoh recorded 59 total tackles, including 16.5 for loss and eight sacks for the Seminoles from 2017 to 2022 in Tallahassee. He also added a 25-yard interception returned for a TD, two pass deflections and a forced fumble.

Derrick Nnadi, Kansas City Chiefs

For the third time in his five-year NFL career, Nnadi is headed back to the Super Bowl. He aided the Chiefs in their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV in 2019 in Miami.

Nnadi, 26, is second all-time to former Pittsburgh Steeler J.T. Thomas for most Super Bowl appearances. Thomas appeared in the Super Bowl four times (1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979).

He recorded 25 tackles, including one tackle for loss in 2022 for the Chiefs in 17 regular season games.

Nnadi had 165 tackles, 12 sacks and 24.5 tackles for loss in his FSU career (2014-17) before being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Chiefs.

Janarius Robinson, Philadelphia Eagles

The former fourth-round pick is eligible to return for the Super Bowl after being placed on the injured reserve with an ankle injury on Jan. 7.

A decision has not been announced on Robinson's status. He swung between the active roster and practice squad due to the ankle injury for much of 2022 and did not record a stat.

He recorded 104 career tackles in four seasons with the Seminoles (2017-20). He added 20.5 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass deflections before being selected by the Minnesota Vikings.

Robinson was signed off the Vikings practice squad on Sept. 13, 2022.
