Six Night Hawks set to represent TU on national stage
May 23—THOMASVILLE — Six TU track and field athletes, including four freshman, will compete in the NAIA Outdoor National Championships on Wednesday in Marion, Indiana. This is the first time in the programs history that an athlete will have a chance to compete for a national title.
This group that is headed to Marion consists of some extremely talented individuals.
Freshman Michael Eady out of Valdosta is already a very accomplished athlete. Eady set a TU record in the 100 meter dash and took sixth in the 2023 SUN Conference Outdoor Championship.
Seth Humphries, another freshman, will compete in the 800 meter after he set a school record in the event at 1:52.49. Humphries was a member of the 4x400 meter SUN Conference Championship team and holds the distinction of being the only athlete in SUN Conference history to win the Indoor and Outdoor Freshman of the Year awards back to back.
Also headed to Marion is another member of TU's B standard 4x100 meter relay squad, freshman Darian Mills. Mills will compete in the 400-meter hurdles, an event that he set a school record in with a time of 52.36. He was also a member of both the 400 and 4x400 meter relay SUN Conference Championship squad and is currently ranked fourth in the NAIA.
Sophomore Sterling St-Cyr, another member of the 4x400 meter SUN Conference Championship team, will be headed to Marion as well. Junior Timothy Tulloch and freshman Kyron Belton will also be joining the team. All members of this six man squad run for the Night Hawks B standard 4x100 meter relay squad, holding a collective time under 42 seconds in the event.
