Six presidential candidates to attend 'FreedomFest' in Memphis

Six lesser-known presidential candidates will be visiting Memphis in July for a “FreedomFest” held at the Renasant Convention Center.

The festival describes itself as “where free minds meet to celebrate freedom in an open-minded environment” and says they are “independent, non-partisan, and not officially affiliated with any organization or think tank.”

The candidates present include Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (D), Vivek Ramaswamy (R), Larry Elder (R), Mike ter Maat (L), Lars Mapstead (L) and Joseph “Afroman” Foreman (I).

Other notables speaking will include former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Steve Forbes, former ACLU President Nadine Strossen and Mike Rowe, executive producer of shows including “Dirty Jobs.”

Speakers range from economics professors, comedians, and bestselling authors to an Elvis impersonator, while organizations represented include Atheists for Liberty, Tennessee Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty, the Cato Institute and the libertarian magazine Reason.

The cost of attendance is $597 if booked in advance or $697 if purchased on-site. Special rates are available for students, professors, members of the media and people from Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.

The event occurs from July 12-15 in Memphis. In addition to hearing from presidential candidates and other speakers, attendees can participate in a 3-day investment conference, a film festival, a comedy festival and morning yoga.
