Six Richland County girls soccer players earn OSSCA All-Ohio honors

Richland County proved yet again why it is a hotbed for girls soccer.

Six Richland County players took home All-Ohio honors as the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association announced its All-Ohio teams.

Ontario's Kyla Spencer, Clear Fork's Trinity Cook, Lexington's Lauren Alexander, Ontario's Adi Turnbaugh, Crestview's Mary Leeper and Mansfield Christian's Abby Little all earned All-Ohio honors for their stellar 2021 seasons.

Spencer earned firstteam All-Ohio honors in Division II. She scored a team-high 79 total points on 33 goals and 13 assists for the Warriors, who went 15-3-3 and won the outright Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship.

Cook earned first-team All-Ohio honors in Division II. She helped the Clear Fork Colts go 11-5-2 with a team-leading 19 goals and 12 assists for a team-best 50 points. The Colts finished second in the MOAC.

Leeper was a first team All-Ohioan in Division III after leading the Cougars to an 11-3-3 record and the Mid-Buckeye Conference tournament championship. Leeper scored 18 goals and handed out 10 assists to lead the Cougars with 46 points.

Alexander took second team All-Ohio honors in Division II after scoring 20 goals and handing out five assists for Lady Lex, which finished 8-9-1.

Turnbaugh was also a second team All-Ohio selection in Division II as she did a lot of everything for the Warriors. She scored 11 goals and handed out 14 assists while also spending a lot of time on the defensive end of the pitch.

Little was the leader of the Flames, scoring 22 goals and adding five assists to help Mansfield Christian to a 12-3-2 record and the regular-season Mid-Buckeye Conference title.

Outside of Richland County, Ashland's Ella Plank was first team All-Ohio in Division I and Sydney Polen of Loudonville was first team All-Ohio in Division III.
