I strive daily to embody what it means to be a kingdom leader.

Throughout my growth process, I’ve learned the main elements of this role are love, grace, mercy, sacrificial service, faithfulness, and humility.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to these intangibles. These are the cut-and-dry requirements for the position.

“My Christian friends, God has been very kind to us. Because of that, I really want you to serve God with your whole life. Offer your bodies to him like a sacrifice that continues to live. Serve him with everything that you have and that will please him. That is the true way to worship God. Do not become like the people who belong to this world. But let God completely change the way that you think, so that you live differently. Then you will understand what God wants you to do. You will know what is good. You will know what pleases God. You will know what is completely right.” – Romans 12:1-2 (EASY)

Jesus Christ was the best example of a leader. He set a foundation of excellence from the manger to the cross.

As kingdom leaders, we must rely on the anointing of the Holy Spirit to address matters in our personal and professional lives. This gives us the power to overcome adversity. It also provides us with the ultimate anchor of support.

In times of despair, remember the words of our Lord: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” – John 14:26 (ESV)

Kingdom leaders are also mindful of their words. Since life and death are in the power of the tongue, it’s of the utmost importance to be careful with our language.

Praise be to God; I’ve come a long way in taming my tongue. I’m still evolving and seeking his presence for wholeness in this area. Leaders season their delivery with love, mercy and grace.

“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” – Psalm 19:14 (NIV)

Kingdom leaders yearn for continuous wisdom. Each day presents a new learning opportunity. Wisdom allows us to apply knowledge to our situations.

With our daily prayers for forgiveness, health, financial resources and so much more, let’s be sure to ask Jesus for an overflow of spiritual wisdom.

“Because of their skilled leadership the hearts of people are filled with the treasures of wisdom and the pleasures of spiritual wealth.” – Proverbs 24:4 (TPT)

Let’s encourage one another to stand firm on the spiritual authority of our role as kingdom leaders.

Dwell within a circle of people who speak this over your life. Make a decision of daily prayer, Bible study and singing praises to God for insight with this position.
