Six things to do this week in the Canandaigua area

CANANDAIGUA — The people at Wood Library have a suggestion if you’re looking for something to do this week.

Tuesday, April 4, is Library Giving Day, and library officials are asking folks to consider a donation to help support the proposed reading garden, work on which will start later in the year.

This will be a place for patrons to read, study or work, gather in small groups, or play quietly outside. The approximately 2,000-square-foot garden will include a columned entrance that mimics the architecture of the library’s historic building, trellises and a pergola, a reading theater, a reading garden, an interpretive/educational garden, and shade and pollinator gardens.

This rendering shows how the proposed Wood Library outdoor reading garden might look.
