Fan favorites, new releases and nationwide sensations are all on the playbill for the upcoming Broadway in Austin season from Texas Performing Arts.

"Our 2023-24 Broadway season features six new shows coming to town for the first time, underscoring Austin’s importance as a creative destination,” said Bob Bursey, executive and artistic director of Texas Performing Arts, in a statement. “Alongside the long-awaited return of 'Wicked' and other fan favorites, it’s truly a can’t-miss season of fascinating, uplifting and fun productions.”

Which Broadway shows are making their Austin debut?

Among the new-to-Austin shows are "Six," "My Fair Lady," "Tina – The Tina Turner Musical," "Beetlejuice," "Girl From The North Country" and "Disney's Frozen."

Which shows are coming back to Austin?

"Wicked" and "Book of Mormon" will make their returns.

What about tickets?

Texas Performing Arts offers individual tickets as well as six- and seven-show subscription packages, which go on sale at 11 a.m. on March 24. Previous season subscribers will receive automatic renewal starting April 4. Go to austin.broadway.com for more info.

Where and when will these shows be held?

Shows take place at Bass Concert Hall starting in October. Here's the schedule:

  • Oct. 3-8: "Six"

  • Nov. 14-19: "The Book of Mormon"

  • Dec. 5-10: "My Fair Lady"

  • Jan. 9-12, 2024: "Tina – The Tina Turner Musical"

  • Feb. 6-11, 2024: "Beetlejuice"

  • March 13-31, 2024: "Wicked"

  • April 23-28, 2024: "Girl From The North Country"

  • June 5-16, 2024: "Disney's Frozen"

Is Broadway in Austin currently performing any 2022-23 season shows?

"Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations" runs March 28-April 2. "To Kill a Mockingbird" will show May 9-14, and then the 2022-23 season will end with "Hairspray" from June 13-18.

Where else can I see live theater?

Zach Theatre also recently announced four shows from its new season lineup: "The Lehman Trilogy" (June and July 2024), "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" (July-September 2024), "Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid" (January-March 2024) and "A Christmas Carol" (November and December 2023).
