Sixers begin final week of season ranked 2nd in ESPN’s Power Rankings

The Philadelphia 76ers have four games left in the regular season of the 2020-21 year before the playoffs begin on May 22 and they will be looking to work out all of the final kinks before the games really begin in the postseason.

In the midst of a winning streak that reached eight on Saturday, they are on the verge of clinching the No. 1 seed in the East which they can do if they knock off the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Ben Simmons will return to the lineup looking to lead the way on the road to get a win.

Heading into this final week of the season, the Sixers are ranked at the second spot in ESPN’s latest edition of their Power Rankings:

The Sixers have all but clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference, giving them an easier path to the NBA Finals — by only having to beat either the Bucks or the Nets to get there — and an opportunity to rest players over these final few games. For a team that’s been dealing with some nagging injuries to all of its stars of late, that extra downtime could make a big difference.

Entering the playoffs with the No. 1 seed is going to be a big difference for the Sixers. it would make life a lot easier for them in the playoffs as they know the road to the NBA Finals in the East would have to go through South Philadelphia.
