The Philadelphia 76ers are set to begin the final week of the regular season on Tuesday when they pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers. Philadelphia is looking to clinch the No. 1 seed with a win over the desperate Pacers which would complete their goal for the regular season.

Over the final week of the season, there are some goals the team wants to accomplish, but there are also some individual goals for some players.

Rookie guard Tyrese Maxey has had a solid season, averaging 7.6 points and 1.8 assists while playing inconsistent minutes for a contending team. He is averaging 10.6 points while shooting 50.6% from the floor and 33.3% from deep over his last 10 games, so there are improvements he continues to make.

Over the final week, Maxey wants to be able to fine-tune things for the playoffs, which begin May 22.

“Just attention to detail,” said Maxey at shootaround on Tuesday. “Paying attention to a lot of details of our team and what we’re trying to do and what the other team is trying to do and trying to take them out of what they’re trying to do so. That’s the biggest thing for me right now.”

This has been anything but a normal NBA season with the compact schedule and different protocols. There have been plenty of games in empty arenas or with limited capacity for the fans, but for Maxey, all of this is normal to him.

“It’s been crazy,” he stated. “Everybody asks how different it is in normal times, but it’s our first year as rookies so that’s all we know as normal, so it’s been great to me. I really enjoyed the experience.”

His experience is about to ratchet up a bit when the postseason begins and the passionate fans in Philadelphia show him what the intensity of the playoffs are all about.
