Sixers star Joel Embiid named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has had himself one hell of a week. The big fella put up some incredible numbers in guiding the Sixers to a perfect 3-0 road trip while averaging 35.0 points, 12.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.3 blocks per game in order to help the Sixers move up in the standings.

As a new week begins, Philadelphia is now the No. 2 seed in the East and they have won eight games in a row. Embiid has been the catalyst of that as he has been the one who has been carrying Philadelphia in these games and ensuring they come out on top.

On Monday, Embiid was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week with Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis winning the award for the Western Conference.

Embiid and the Sixers have 12 games to go before the playoffs begin and they will be looking to stay hot and carry their play into the postseason where they hope to make a deep run.
