Sixers star Tobias Harris discusses his individual goals for final week

Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris has had a terrific season under coach Doc Rivers. He is shooting 51.7% from the floor and 40.1% from deep while averaging 19.5 points and 32.5 minutes per game.

Those numbers have been consistent and he has come up clutch in big moments for the Sixers all season. Despite being highly productive the entire season, he has some individual goals for the final week of the season. He would like to get some rest, but the team still has work to do to clinch the No. 1 seed.

“Ideal, honestly, would be to do whatever is asked,” Harris explained. “I think a lot of people are excited, but we got business to handle. We need whatever the number is, I think it’s two wins, we need to get those wins. We need to lock up the No. 1 seed. From there, we can discuss like, what’s the plan?”

Harris has always focused on the task at hand. The Sixers have a three-game lead on the Brooklyn Nets for the top spot in the East, and they are up 3.5 games on the Milwaukee Bucks.

“I’m not really a in the future type person, but at the end of the day, we got to handle our business that’s at hand,” he added. “If rest is presented, that’s a good thing, but also just being in rhythm and being in a good flow is another good thing.”

As far as his individual game, he gets his offense within the rhythm of the team’s offense. That is why it will be critical for him to balance rest with getting things done on the floor.

“I like to play basketball,” Harris added. “I like to play in games to maintain a rhythm and not get out of flux. Even if that consists of me playing X amount of minutes in one game or another. It is what it is, but whatever is the right plan for us, and to be healthy, and to be in a good flow as we get ready for the postseason.”

The season continues on Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers.
