Sixers to stay the night in OKC, contact tracing due to Grizzlies matchup
The Philadelphia 76ers are in the middle of more contact tracing again after their game with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday was postponed due to them not having the league minimum of eight players. This is the second time Philadelphia has had to go through this after the Jan. 7 incident in New York when Seth Curry tested positive for the coronavirus.
Just like in that instance when they stayed overnight in New York, the Sixers will stay overnight in Oklahoma City in accordance with the league’s health and safety protocols. They have two days off before they face the Boston Celtics on Wednesday back at the Wells Fargo Center.

As reported previously, there are no new positives within the organization and the contact tracing is due to a previous opponent. The team faced the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday and it was announced on Sunday that big man Jonas Valanciunas entered the protocols.
The Sixers postponement is due to contact tracing connected with the game against the Grizzlies on Saturday night, sources tell ESPN.

Unlike in the last instance, the Sixers will have an extra day to get healthy and figure everything out before Wednesday’s game with the Celtics.
