Sixers veteran Danny Green ranked as one of most improved players post break

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the top teams in the East mainly due to the terrific play of Joel Embiid, who has placed himself squarely in the MVP conversation. But they also receive a lot of help from other pieces on the roster.

One of those pieces is veteran Danny Green, who brings championship experience and the ability to knock down open 3-pointers at a high clip. After a somewhat rocky start, Green has been terrific since the All-Star break.

Green was shooting 37.6% from deep before the break as it appears the short offseason caught up to him. He finished the 2019-20 season on Oct. 11 with the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a quick turnaround before beginning the 2020-21 season, and it looked like he had some tired legs.

That is not the case in the second half of the season. He is shooting 48.7% from deep, and he is making a big impact on the team. He has been one of the most improved players since the break per Bryan Kalbrosky of HoopsHype:

Green was 5-for-6 from deep against the Boston Celtics on April 6. He was also 8-for-12 on 3-pointers against the Lakers on March 25. Philadelphia is 12-2 (.857) on the season during games in which Green has hit at least four shots from beyond the arc.

His veteran leadership will be instrumental as Philadelphia hopes to make a splash against the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks to win the Eastern Conference.

Green will definitely play a huge part in whatever Philadelphia does in the playoffs and he will be essential to their success. They will need him to continue to provide his strong play on both ends of the floor as he is also averaging 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks post All-Star break.
