The Philadelphia 76ers were already shorthanded heading into Tuesday’s matchup with the Indiana Pacers as they will be without Furkan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle, but now they will be missing their star big man in the matchup as well.

MVP candidate Joel Embiid was questionable heading into the matchup due to a non-COVID illness and he has now been ruled out for the matchup on Tuesday. Embiid has been dealing with right shoulder soreness recently and he has also been dealing with his recovery from a bone bruise in his left knee that kept him sidelined for a while.

A rest with Indiana missing Myles Turner is not the worst thing in the world for him as they prepare for the NBA Playoffs.

The Sixers can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win over the Pacers on Tuesday so the other players on the team will have to step up to get it done in this one with tipoff set for 8 p.m. EDT from Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
