Man arrested in connection to sixth People’s United Bank in grocery store robbed in last two weeks

Police have made an arrest in connection with the reported robbery at a People’s United Bank in Naugatuck Wednesday night, according to police.

Michael Timothy Alldredge, 43, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with second-degree robbery.

Police say a man went to the People’s United Bank inside of the Stop & Shop on Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck and presented a note demanding money. There were no weapons reported in the robbery.

Police described the suspect as a man with blue eyes and a goatee, wearing a black T-shirt, dark shorts and a black baseball hat.

This marks the sixth time a People’s United Bank inside a grocery store has been robbed in Connecticut since July 15. There have also been reported robberies in Watertown, Glastonbury, Southington, West Hartford and Newington.

Those robberies were described similarly to this one, with one or two men giving a note to the teller demanding money. It is unclear if the robberies are connected.

Alldredge was held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court Friday morning.

Anyone with information on the reported robbery is asked to contact Detective Slavin at 203-729-5221.
