State funds will help bring a skate park to Cherry Hill and a recreation area to Oaklyn, officials say.

The aid also will support upgrades to a township park and a high school stadium in Cherry Hill, and at a recreation center in Haddon Township.

The skate park will be in the Cherry Hill section of Cooper River Park, according to a statement from Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald of Voorhees and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt of Cherry Hill.

The park will benefit from $87,000 in aid from the legislators' "local recreational improvement grants."

The project is in the design stage, with bids expected to go out in the fall.

"Since holding a public meeting on the project in February, we have been working to incorporate community feedback and suggestsions," said Camden County Commissioner Ed McDonnell.
