The new skateboard park at Detroit's Chandler Park officially opened during a ceremony Sunday that featured famed professional skateboarder Tony Hawk.
The environmentally friendly, east side skate park is geared for skateboarders, bicyclists, and scooters.
The design of the skatepark is inspired by the nearby architecture, and natural landscape found in the Chandler Park Community. The skatepark features a plaza style design and was created in collaboration with local skaters.
