Skeletal remains found off Airport Road
Nov. 14—GREEN VALLEY — Skeletal remains discovered Monday afternoon off Airport Road have been sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office for additional investigation, State Police officials said.
The remains were discovered at 2:36 p.m., Senior Trooper J.B. Fox, with the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment, said.
"It was skeletal remains," Fox said. "We don't know if it was male or female."
The remains were discovered on Sherman Oaks Road, which is off Airport Road. Although a residential neighborhood, Fox said the remains were found in a wooded, secluded area.
Currently, investigators are unsure whether or not the death was a homicide or suspicious in nature, Fox said.
"At this time we're waiting for the medical examiner's office to provide more information," Fox said.
"Obviously, it's still a death investigation but it's in the early stages," Fox said. "We don't want to speculate."
Sherman Oaks Road is located across from the Green Valley Skating Center.
If anyone has any information regarding the case, Fox asked that they call the State Police Princeton detachment at 304-425-2101.
