Ski resorts in Sierra closed for week due to COVID-19 concerns

Five ski resorts in the Sierra are closing for the coming week due to COVID-19 concerns. Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar resorts --ski locations under parent company Vail Resorts -- are suspending operations from March 15 to March 22 to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. Squaw Valley Resort and Alpine Meadows, Alterra Mountain Company destinations, announced they will suspend operations starting March 15 until further notice.
