A person was seen using skis to trek through heavy snow in the northern Italian city of Trento on Monday, December 28, amid what city officials said was the “fastest snowfall in 100 years,” with more than 20 inches accumulating in just over 12 hours.

Trentino provincial officials reported that snow was “everywhere,” and said about 500 operators and 350 vehicles were working to clear roads. Credit: Amos Pasini via Storyful
