Skiers, snowboarders get first runs of season on opening day at Seven Springs

Skiers and snowboarders got their first runs of the season as Seven Springs Mountain Resort opened for the season on Black Friday!

Opening day festivities included breaking the celebratory banner on the first chair on the Polar Bear Express, DJ Digital Dave, and complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and granola bars.

In previous seasons, the resort would be open for weekends only and closed during the week until mid-December. But, effective Friday, Seven Springs is open for daily operations.

Thanks to an early cold snap, Seven Springs started making snow on Nov. 15. The resort said it will get back to making snow when cold weather conditions come back.

The resort also added 28 new snowmaking guns ahead of this season.

Seven Springs will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
