Following endless rumours and spy pictures, the Skoda Kodiaq is finally set to be officially shown. The full-size SUV, in fact, is getting ready for an appearance at this year‘s Tour de France finale. The vehicle will lead the racers through the legendary Paris boulevard of Champs-Elysées to the finishing line at the concluding stage next Sunday.

Skoda has even released the first photos of the Kodiaq, with the new SUV covered in white, grey and black camouflage. The red, grey and black edges of the new camouflage are inspired by Skoda’s new design language.

With 4.7 metres in length, the Kodiaq is claimed to offer the largest boot space in its class and a customizable third row of seats. Under the hood, the Kodiaq will be offered with the familiar VW Group engines, starting with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. The more popular 1.6 or 2.0-litre diesel engines will also be on offer, in various states of tune. The latter will include the 237bhp twin-turbo diesel from the Volkswagen Passat.

Skoda has revealed that the Kodiaq will make its run at the Tour de France in disguise before showing itself to the world for the first time during its Berlin premiere on September 1. A few weeks later it will be introduced at the Paris Motor Show and finally, go on sale in early 2017.
