Christmas is creeping ever closer and you might well already be wondering which movies will be accompanying your festive evenings in front of the TV this winter.

Well, Sky Cinema and NOW TV have the answer to that question as the list of films set to premiere in December has been confirmed, and it'll make your sofa the only place you'll want to be next month.

If you missed the much-talked-about musical adaptation of Cats when it was released last year then this is your chance to catch up, as Tom Hooper's movie will premiere on Boxing Day (December 26).

James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba and Jennifer Hudson are just a few of the very famous faces starring (although you might struggle to recognise them beneath the digital fur).

A series of family titles will also premiere this December, including Dolittle on December 4, starring Marvel favourite Robert Downey Jr as the vet who can talk to animals, while video game adaptation Sonic the Hedgehog premieres on December 18 and sees Sonic team up with his new human best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) to stop the evil Dr Robotnik from taking over the world.

If you need something to keep the kids occupied while you're cooking Christmas dinner, look no further than Trolls World Tour which premieres on Christmas Day (December 25).

The musical-comedy animated sequel stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake.

Over the month, you'll also be able to watch the likes of Misbehaviour (December 20), Like a Boss (December 24), Love Sarah (December 9) and more.

Sky Cinema has also prepared some special collections for the month ahead too, to help viewers find exactly what they're looking for all through December.
