After earning his first career Pro Bowl nod in 2019, Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton tore his ACL and missed all but one game in 2020.

Last year, Sutton didn’t appear to be completely recovered from that injury, and the team’s shaky quarterback play also hurt the receiver’s production.

Now that he’s healthy again, the sky is the limit for Denver’s star receiver — just ask quarterback Russell Wilson.

“I think Courtland Sutton is a rockstar,” Wilson said Wednesday. “This guy is special with how he goes and attacks the football, how he makes plays, how he’s so focused in the meetings, how he leads guys. He’s great in the weight room.

“This guy is doing everything that he can just to be phenomenal and he already is. The sky is the limit for him. He’s got so much capability. I think people need to know who Courtland Sutton is and they’re starting to recognize how special he really is.”

Sutton, a team captain, has quickly emerged as Wilson’s favorite target. The 26-year-old receiver has hauled in 19 receptions for 291 receiving yards, which marks the fifth-best total in the NFL through three games.

Sutton is well on his way to receiving a second Pro Bowl selection.
