At 4:45 a.m.: Mars enters Cancer

In the morning, warrior-planet Mars ends its lengthy transit in Gemini, entering sensitive Cancer. Due to its retrograde spin, Mars has occupied the sign of the Twins since August 20, 2022! The preceding months tasked us with becoming more intentional in how we use speech to work our will. Cultivating discernment was key, as we determined when to use words as weapons, versus when to use them as tools.  Now, Mars moves into a sign known for its affinity with comfort and security, as well as for its frequent emotional vacillations! While Mars is in Cancer, we must learn to trust our intuition and make decisions according to our inner wisdom. But this is easier said than done, as intuition and anxiety can easily be conflated. Over the next several weeks, we risk taking premature action in the name of self-preservation.  Instead of assuming that change is a threat to our safety, we should see it as an opportunity to become more intimate with the workings of our psyche. By doing this, we can become a protector for others, standing up in defense of those who cannot defend themselves.

At 9:19 a.m.: The moon is sextile Neptune, and the moon void of course begins

After sun-up, the Taurus moon sextiles Neptune in Pisces, stimulating our imagination. This is an excellent influence for creative pursuits. Sensitivity to art, beauty, music, and color is increased, enabling us to commune with transcendent, spiritual principles. We are also more in tune with nature now. If you can, take a walk outside or put your feet on the earth.  The moon enters its void following this aspect’s perfection, which will last most of the rest of the day. Use this time for relaxation, reflection, and contemplation.
