Slain deputy posthumously promoted, awarded medal of valor
The Wicomico County sheriff's deputy killed in the line of duty last week was laid to rest with high honors. Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis posthumously promoted Deputy First Class Glenn Hilliard to corporal and awarded him the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Medal of Valor at funeral services held Tuesday at the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. Hilliard was shot and killed on June 12 while trying to arrest fugitive Austin Davidson, who was wanted on several felony warrants in multiple jurisdictions. Davidson, 20, is in police custody.
