SLED charges Florence bail bond agent with forgery, larceny

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A Florence bail bond agent is facing forgery and larceny charges after authorities say she falsified a report and failed to return nearly $15,000 worth of monitoring equipment.

Theresa Tindal, 48, was released Jan. 26 from the Florence County Detention Center after posting a $13,000 bond. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said Tindal submitted a false alcohol monitoring report to a Timmonsville magistrate judge in December 2022.

In January 2023, Tindal also reportedly failed to return $14,950 in equipment while employed by Black Cat Bail Bonds. It wasn’t immediately known if Tindal was still working for the agency or whether her bond license was still active.
