Sleepy Hollow tavern lands on Yelp's top 100 pizza spots in the U.S.
Yelp has released its top pizza spots in the U.S. and Beekman Ale House is the only Lower Hudson Valley place on the list.
The 2-year-old Sleepy Hollow tavern, also known for its extensive beer list, ranked 92.
The announcement comes just in time for National Pizza Day, Feb. 9, a "cheesy" ode to one of America’s all-time favorite foods.

The bar/restaurant, owned by brothers Patrick and Luke Sheeran, specializes in thin-crust 12-inch bar pizzas that come in plain, Buffalo chicken, barbecue chicken, pepperoni, hot honey, roasted veggie and white, the latter of which is made with baby kale, garlic, broccoli, Italian sausage and cremini mushrooms.
Also popular: their Beekman Ave pie with red sauce, cheese, bacon and cherry peppers.
Luke Sheeran said he and his brother were very intentional in offering a small menu focused on quality. "We wanted to be known for a few simple but extremely well executed items and stand behind that as our base," he said.
That means dough that's made daily to ensure a cold fermentation of at least 48 hours.
"We found the longer it sits, the better it tastes," he said. "Making our own sauce and grating cheese daily also contributes to the freshness of our product."
Other New York spots — should you want to take a drive — include Saverio’s Authentic Pizza Napoletana in Massapequa (number six), Lombardo’s of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn (14), Manhattan's B Side Pizza & Wine Bar, (50), Lolita’s Pizza in Poughkeepsie (64), and Pizzeria Posto in Rhinebeck (94).
