Slidell student accused of threatening to ‘shoot up’ school, sheriff’s office reports
SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A 14-year-old student was arrested after posting a school shooting threat on social media.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after receiving a report that a Slidell-area junior high school student made a post to social media saying he was going to “shoot up” another local junior high school.

Deputies said they were notified after another student told administrators about the alleged threat.
“We have made it very clear that threats like this will be taken seriously,” said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith. “We will continue to work with our schools and investigate any and all threats made at our schools or to the students and faculty who attend them.”
The student was issued a summons for menacing and was released to a parent on a custodial agreement to appear in court.
