Slight increase in COVID-19 cases in Logan County

Logan County Health Department issued an updated COVID-19 report Wednesday giving details on cases in the county.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in Logan County is now 5,002 since March 2020 and that includes 74 fatalities.

The LCHD reported there were 59 COVID-19 positive cases in ages that ranged from 6 months to 91 years old. For people who have not been vaccinated the department reported 43 tested positive while 16 were fully vaccinated. Twelve cases were in the age group of 11 years old and under. There were no people testing positive for COVID-19 who were partially vaccinated.

Individuals who had been vaccinated and then tested positive the department reported seven had the Pfizer, four had the Johnson and Johnson and five had the Moderna vaccines. Of those who tested positive none were hospitalized.

The seven day rolling average remained at 1.8% with county statistics of 96.1% of the population testing negative and 3.9% testing positive with a 97.4% recovering from the virus.

The health department will offer walk-in first doses and booster shots of the Johnson and Johnson Wednesday between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

For those who want to get the first and second dose of the Moderna shot walk-ins accepted from 7:45AM - 3:45PM on Friday, Nov. 19.
